Iva Bartosova - Brno, Czech Republic
l. Why you decided to take part in this Courses? Did you take part in another
courses sometimes and which one?
I have learnt about courses in Zlate Hory from my professor and my classmates that
have already participated in them. Previously, I have attended several courses - piano
courses in Mikulov, international courses at JAMU in Brno, and last year I attended
courses in Tyn nad Vltavou.
2. What do you know about our teachers?
A year ago, Professor Kubalek visited our school and presented himself in a short tutorial.
As for professor Hnat, I have never met him before, and the more I am interested.
And professor Kahanek I do not know at all.
3. What do you think about learning English in our Courses?
I find it quite original as I have never seen it before in other courses. Probably, I will
take part, even though it is of greater benefit to those who learn it more actively.
4.And last question - Dou you have any guestions for our teachers?
Most likely, I will come upon some questions during the courses. I would like to know what
style and period of music the professors prefer, or whether they prefer any. And probably
(even though it is difficult to name one person): Which pianist really impressed you by his
or her interpretation in the past or present?

Thank you for your question. I think I have always been “a romantic type” of a pianist, and
it is particularly music by Chopin and Rachmaninov that I have found the most natural way of
expressing myself since my childhood. But as I have already written to miss Chrastinova,
I am becoming more and more interested in an “objective” kind of music – Bach, Beethoven and
especially Mozart.
The famous pianists of the past that have impressed me are Richter, Gilels, Lipati or Kempf,
among the present pianists there are Perahia, Ohlsson, Ax, and Sokolov.
