Asta Kvasyte is studying piano playing at Lithuanian Academy of Music
and Theatre in the class of prof. J. Bialobbeskis.
She was given the opportunity to participate in the 4th year of Antonin Kubalek
Piano Courses thanks to a selective grant provided by the Municipality of the
City of Zlin.
The pianist, who was sent to Zlate Hory by the Lithuanian Academy of Music and
Theatre, was moved to tears at the final concert when she heard the announcement
made by the artistic director of the Antonin Kubalek Piano Courses.
Moreover, his family decided to sponsor Asta through her attendance in the 5th
year of the Piano Courses. Maestro Kubalek was among others impressed by her
interpretation of P. Hindemith's difficult composition which she performed on 23
July 2006 in the hall of the Elementary School of Arts of Franz Schubert in
Zlate Hory (Czech Republic).
Asta Kvasyte and her colleague from the Lithuanian Academy are preparing to take
part in the Franz Schubert International Competition for piano duos to be held
in Jesenik - Spa (Czech Republic) in April 2007.

Miss Asta Kvasyte's performance
of Paul Hindemith's III. piano Sonata was an impressive artistic achievement.
Within three weeks she progressed from 'knowing' to 'Owning' this extraordinary
work. Her performance at the final student recital was technically solid,
musically convincing and imbued with abundance of energy.
